Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage is a specialized massage technique that focuses on stimulating the lymphatic system to reduce swelling, improve circulation, and support the body's immune system and natural detoxification process.

Your lymphatic system runs head to toe and is all connected, so we address the entire lymphatic system, including scalp, face, neck, legs, feet, abdomen, arms, hands, and back. Using gentle pulses over lymph nodes to help clear them out, then using rhythmic, flowing strokes to bring fluid to those nodes, we are able to aid your lymphatic function. The majority of your lymphatic capillaries sit just below the surface of your skin, so the pressure will be on the lighter side.
Other modalities may be incorporated into the massage as needed. All massages at Fluidity are grounded in attention to the nervous system, so all sessions incorporate nervous system techniques to help your body be ready to receive the work.
You'll be comfortably draped throughout the session, and Lise will focus on areas of concern while maintaining a professional and therapeutic environment.

POST-OPERATIVE CARE

Post-operative care at Fluidity plays a significant role in helping clients achieve optimal results after cosmetic (and non-cosmetic) surgery. Post op sessions include lymphatic treatment (to reduce fluid and chances of complications), compression garment checks, and progress photos. All sessions are grounded in nervous system-centered techniques to ease your journey and help your body move into a healing mode.
Clients regularly report feeling lighter, less swollen, more mobile, more in control of their journey, and as though they healed better as a result of post op sessions.

Post op sessions help to:
reduce excess swelling in the body after surgery
support detox from anesthesia, meds, etc.
reduce the chances of complications like seromas, fibrosis, and uneven skin reattachment
increase circulation, thus accelerating wound healing
support clients through what can be a challenging time by evaluating any concerns for the client to bring to the surgeon, answering any post op questions as they arise, and checking in with clients between sessions
ease the nervous system after trauma to the body (surgery) by using specific techniques, thus moving the body out of fight or flight and allowing the body to focus its energy on healing

Your session begins with a thorough assessment of your needs and goals. We will discuss your type of surgery, how you are healing from it, any concerns you might have, and what the session will look like.
Using specialized gentle techniques, the treatment focuses on activating your lymphatic system, supporting your body's natural healing processes, and reducing excess swelling.
This session will not use deep pressure, use incisional drainage (illegal for CMTs to perform in CA), or be painful. You may experience discomfort, but we will communicate throughout to keep you as comfortable as possible.
The session will address your entire lymphatic system, head to toe, with extra focus on surgery areas. Your lymphatic system is all connected, so by addressing the full body, we prevent “traffic jams” (fluid building up because the area in front of it is not cleared).
Post op sessions are all 90 minutes to start, allowing for time to evaluate compression fit, get on the table, do the full lymphatic treatment, take progress photos, and help you back into your compression.
You can expect to do 2-3 session per week for the first several weeks and then reduce the frequency as you heal. The frequency needed over time will also depend largely on how you are taking care of your body between sessions. We can discuss frequency through an intake call or during your initial session.

Depending on the surgery received, Some clients may be able to move to 60 minute sessions as they progress in their healing. If you qualify for this option, we will discuss it at your first session and explore packages and pricing that fits your needs.

FLUIDITY GENERAL MASSAGE

This therapeutic massage employs a variety of modalities to create a curated experience that addresses each individual client’s concerns.
Many clients book to reduce stress and tension, ease back into a parasympathetic state (healing and restful), and decrease pain.

Massage can be helpful for relaxation, stress relief, tension relief, and pain relief, among many other benefits. Clients often report feeling more regulated, sleeping better, and feeling better overall following sessions.

Your session will take place in a peaceful environment with natural lighting and calming music. The massage uses specialized nervous system techniques to help you achieve deep relaxation and allow your body to receive the bodywork.
Communication about pressure and comfort is encouraged throughout the session. Lise will constantly be evaluating how your body is responding to the work and adjusting accordingly as well.

Each session is grounded in fluidity- working with the systems of the body for optimal results, tuning into the body’s response to each stroke and movement and continuously adjusting for optimal results, and truly listening to the needs of every client.

Lise Ramaley, CMT
Ever since childhood, I have been drawn to hands-on hobbies, from playing music to doing trail work and creating art. After graduating from St. Olaf College with a BA in Sociology and Anthropology in 2018, I spent several years teaching science and gardening in a San Francisco elementary school. I loved the work, but eventually felt ready for a shift and was called to the hands-on, intuitive, personable, and science-driven work of massage therapy. I began the CMT program at the San Francisco School of Massage and Bodywork in 2023. It was there that I fell in love with working with the systems of the body, especially the lymphatic system and nervous system.
Upon graduation, I pursued advanced education in post-operative lymphatic treatment. I completed the TOSI post-op course and spent a year working and studying under Luciana Andrus at Just For You Bodywork and Massage, mastering Brazilian Techniques by Luciana Andrus™ for postoperative care and Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage.
Beyond lymphatics, I have completed over 80 hours of training in specialized nervous system techniques to ground all modalities in, from lymphatic to deep tissue. These practices allow clients to be ready to receive bodywork- when our bodies are in a safe and healing state, they are much better equipped to incorporate bodywork.
I love the work I do and the excitement to get to create a business that offers services that I truly believe in is what drove me to start Fluidity Post Op and Massage- post operative care and massage that truly works with the systems of your body to ease into healing.
